About the Mission:
The family of Mariano T. "Butch" Ragone has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Ragone, 80, died Saturday, October 5, 2024, at his residence.
Born in Albany, Mr. Ragone was raised in Albany and had resided in Troy since 1966. He enlisted in the United States Navy on 19 October 1960, serving a total of 3 years, 11 months and 21 days on active duty. His time included 3 years and 9 months of Sea Duty, with time aboard the USS Ponchatoula (AO-148), a Neosho-class fleet oiler. He was honorably discharged on 9 October 1964 with a rating of Ships Serviceman and a rank of Seaman (E-3). For his service, he was awarded the US Navy Good Conduct Medal.
Mario was a hair stylist and master barber and owner and operator of Mario's Shear Magic in Albany for 25 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the North Albany Legion Post, an avid gardener, and he loved to fish and golf.

Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, followed by a dignified transfer and escort to St. Agnes Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave., Menands, 12204 for interment with military honors.
