About the Mission:
The family of Major Murray L Brooks has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Major Brooks, 82, passed at his home on Monday, December 4, 2023.
Born in Elmira, NY, Major Brooks began his military career in the enlisted ranks, serving as a Teletype Intercept Operator and Tactical Microwave Systems Repairman. He held the ranks of Specialist 5th Class and Staff Sergeant prior to receiving his commission. As a Captain, he served as a Huey Helicopter Pilot during the Vietnam War and Communications Center Officer. He retired at the rank of Major after serving for 20 years. For his service, Major Brooks was awarded the Bronze Star, Air Medal (2-9), Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He also received an Army Aviator Badge and Parachutist Badge.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for dignified transfer. Members will escort to cemetery for interment with full military honors.Is there a Second Stage to this Mission?
