About the Mission:
The family of Lieutenant Colonel Edward Norman Koury, US Army - Retired, has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his full military honors funeral services. Colonel Koury, 89, passed on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 at Saint Peters Hospital, Albany, New York.
A native of Oneonta, NY, Colonel Koury graduated from Oneonta High School in 1953 and went on to receive degrees from Hartwick College and Ohio University. Enlisting in the United States Army in October of 1959, then Private First Class Koury completed basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, and was assigned to Headquarters, 63rd Air Defense Artillery Group. It was there that he received a direct commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the regular Army. He proudly served his country for over two decades in the United States Army, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His military career was marked by exceptional service, including deployment to Vietnam with the 1st Calvary. His courage, leadership, and dedication to his fellow servicemen earned him the Bronze Star Medal as well as numerous military honors and commendations recognizing his valor and service to our nation.
Following his distinguished military career, Colonel Koury continued his career with 24 years of service to CT Male Associates Engineering.

For those frm the Capital District area wishing to ride down as a group, meet at Pilot Travel Center, 1128 Duanesburg Rd, Rotterdam, NY 12306 no later than 12:35 pm. KSU from there will be no later than 12:45 pm for a 2 pm arrival at the cemetery.
