About the Mission:

The family of Leonard Thomas "Tom" Mansell has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.  Tom, 75, of Hudson Falls, passed away at home on November 28, 2022.

Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, Tom was a graduate of South Glens Falls Central School.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force, enlisting on 9 August 1965.  He spent 3 years and 5 months on active duty as a Truck Driver (AFSC 60350), including a year and 4 months in Germany.  He was released from active duty on 14 January 1969, and honorably discharged at the rank of Airman 1st Class (E-3) after completion of his inactive reserve service 8 August 1971.  For his service, Tom was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

After his military service, Tom worked in construction, both in New York and in the southern states, with quite a few years in Texas.  He was very active in local AA groups and always said. “You have friends wherever you are”.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

We will stand flag line for the calling hour of 10:00 - 10:45 am, prepare for dignified transfer, and then provide an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 12:30 pm service.
