About the Mission:
The family of Kenneth Forbes Smith has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Kenneth, 91, died peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Ellis Hospital.
Born in the Bronx, Kenneth later moved to Ticonderoga, NY where he grew up. He graduated from high school and was employed at the International Paper Mill in Ticonderoga. He joined the US Navy on 22 January 1951, serving as a Utilitiesman during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on 10 September 1955 at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-3), and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
Kenneth earned his master’s degree in physical therapy from Ithaca College, went on to start his career at Montefiore Hospital in New York, and then as department head of Physical Therapy at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. He was most proud of his published paper on Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. After retiring, he continued on at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital in the Physical Therapy Department as a consultant.

Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for a dignified transfer. Anticipated departure time is 10:30 for escort to St. Anthony's Cemetery, 27 Glenridge Road, Glenville, NY 12302 for interment with military honors.
