About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to participate in the military honors funeral services of unaccompanied US Navy Vietnam War Veteran Joseph A. Remillard. Joseph, 74, passed on 19 February 2025.
Little is know of Joseph's life and service at this time, but we do know that he was born in Cohoes, NY on 18 November 1950. He enlisted in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on 8 March 1969. He served for 3 years and 10 months on active duty, including time aboard the USS Ticonderoga (CVS-14), an Essex-class aircraft carrier. The Ticonderoga completed several tours on Yankee Station in the Gulf of Tonkin, providing crucial air support during the Vietnam War. Joseph was honorably discharged at the rank of Seaman (E-3) on 23 January 1971, and for his service was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.
Joseph has no known family and only several neighbors and friends are expected to attend his services. No veteran should face his final journey alone. Patriot Guard Riders will proudly stand in as his family, honoring his life and service to his country.
