About the Mission:
The family of Jon P. Badi, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral service. Jon passed on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 after a long illness.
Jon Graduated from V.R.H.S. in 1962, and joined the United States Marine Corp at the age of 17 while still in school. He completed his active duty in 1965 and received an honorable discharge in 1968. While in Okinawa, he was sent to school and became a demolitions expert.
Jon was a member of the Gerald O’Neil Post #1683, was a Past NYS Commanders Aide for Ken Governor, a Past Rensselaer County Commander and a Past Post Commander as well as the Service Officer. He is a Dual member with the Sons of the American Legion Squadron #1683. He was a Charter member of the American Legion Riders Post #1683 and was the Chaplain of the Riders. He was a proud Member of Patriot Guard Riders of New York, Region 5, since 2010.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Funeral service with military honors will be conducted at the funeral home. Escort and interment to follow at New Rural Cemetery, 330 3rd Ave Ext, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
