About the Mission:

The family of Mr. John M. "Jack" Grady has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Grady, 77, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 with his loving family by his side.

Jack served in the United States Air Force, enlisting during the Vietnam War, on 21 January 1966. He served on active duty until retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant (E-7), after 24 years, on 30 November 1988. His time included 13 years and 6 months of foreign service. For his service, Jack was awarded; an Air Force Commendation Medal w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/1 Silver Star and 1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Service Ribbon - Short, Air Force Overseas Service Ribbon - Long, w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Longevity Ribbon w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Training Ribbon, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/60 Device.

After his military service, Jack worked and retired from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He liked to play baseball, fastpitch softball, and played golf a lot and spending time with his loving family.
