About the Mission:
The family of John Francis Felts has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. John, 77, passed on Saturday, September 16, 2023.
Born in Albany, John served in the US Navy from 1965 to 1969 during the Vietnam War on the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), a United States Navy supercarrier. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Seaman (E-3) and for his service, was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation with 1 Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 6 Bronze Stars, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with '60 Device.
Over the years, John worked for several agencies of New York State, with his final years at the Department of Transportation at the Rensselaer shop, retiring in 2008.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the Dunkin in Wynantskill. At approximately 10:40 am, riders will proceed to the honoree's private residence where they will meet up with the family and funeral director who will be transporting our hero to Saratoga National Cemetery. Actual address will be provided by the Ride Captain at the briefing. KSU from residence approximately 11:00 am.
