About the Mission:
The family of John D. "Dave" Rothermel has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. John, 74,passed on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Born in Albany, NY, Dave, graduated from Lake George High School in 1967. He enlisted in the US Navy on 26 November 1968, and was trained as a Builder in the Seabees.He served on active duty until 20 November 1970, including almost 8 months overseas in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class, with a rating of Builder 3. For his service, John was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal with Fleet Marine Force Combat Insignia.
After his military service, Dave continued his profession as a builder.

We will stand a flag line for the dignified transfer, then escort to the Church of St Mary’s-St Paul's Church for an 11:00 am service. After church services, we will escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1:30 pm service.
