About the Mission:
The family of Jerry Legorius has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Jerry, 93, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2022 at Glendale Home with his family at his side.
Born in Schenectady, Jerry was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 16 June 1948. He served as a Cook (MOS 3371) for 4 years, including 5 months overseas. He was honorably discharged on 15 June 1952 at the rank of Sergeant, and for his service was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
Jerry retired from the United States Postal Service as a Mail Carrier after many years. He was a long-time communicant of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Schenectady.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the visitation hour between 10:00 and 11:00 am. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1:30 interment service.

Interment with military honors scheduled for 1:30 pm.
Note that there is a new staging protocol for Saratoga National Cemetery. PGR members will stage by parking ONLY on the right side of the roadway near Section 21. If that area is full, the overflow parking area will be on the right side of the roadway near Interment Shelter 1. Please park as closely together as possible.
