About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested by the family of Jason Matthew Wendell to participate in his military honors funeral services. Jason, 52, of Fort Edward, passed away on August 6th peacefully in his home.

Jason, also known as “Jake” and “Spike” to his friends, was born in Glens Falls, NY. After graduating from Glens Falls High School in 1988, he went on to enlist in the United States Army on 13 September of that year.  He was trained as a Hawk Missile Crewmember (MOS 16D10), and served for three years until his honorable discharge at the rank of Specialist (E-4), on 12 September 1991.  For his service, he was awarded the National defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army lapel Pin, Expert Badge (Grenade) and Marksman Badge (Rifle).

Following his time in the Army, Jason worked as a welder and machinist at Morgan Gage Company where he assisted the owner with managing clients and machine work. With this job, he had the opportunity to travel to China.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

We will stage flag line at 9:15 for the arrival of family and friends. After dignified transfer, we will escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for an 11:00 am service.
