About the Mission:
The family of Jason D. Gidley has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Jason, 62, passed on August 2, 2023.
Born in Schenectady, NY, Jason was a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on July 5, 1979, and was trained as a Security Specialist (AFSC 81150). He served a total of 4 years on active duty, including 3 years and 6 months overseas in Korea and the Philippines, assigned to the 3rd Security Police Squadron, Clark AB, Philippines (PACAF). He was released from active duty on July 1, 1983 at the rank of Sergeant (E-4), and was honorably discharged upon completion of his Inactive Reserve obligation on June 11, 1985. For his service, Jason was awarded the Air Force Good Conduct Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Ribbon, and Air Force Training Ribbon.
He was a fourth-degree black belt in Kuntaw and was an instructor in that branch of martial arts. He was the former owner of J-Tech Archery and was an avid gardener who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and listening to a wide range of music.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Members will provide escort to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar, for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial. Following church services, members will escort to Calvary Cemetery, 481 Rte 9W, Glenmont, NY 12077, for interment with military honors.
