About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested by the family of James Blaauboer to participate in his military honors funeral services.  Jake, 27, died suddenly on November 11, 2022.

Jake was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School. He attended Hudson Valley Community College and was a student at the University of Notre Dame at the time of his death. He was a United States Army veteran and worked for a time as a welder.

Jake was an enthusiastic athlete, consistently running on Cross Country and Track teams while a student. He challenged himself by climbing several of the Adirondack high peaks, Mount Washington in New Hampshire as well as Pikes Peak in Colorado. He was a deep thinker and loved a good debate, particularly about issues of philosophy and politics. He enjoyed reading and appreciated all genres of music. Jake was a beautiful old soul whose memory will be treasured.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

We will arrive during calling hours.  Please stage quietly and stand flag line until the beginning of the noon service, then stand down until service is over. After the service, stand for the dignified transfer.  We will then provide an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 2:30 pm committal service.
