About the Mission:

The family of James P. Oliver, Jr. Has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. James, 55, passed on october 10, 2021 in Culpepper, Virginia.

Born in Glens Falls, James entered the US Navy on 27 November 1985. He was trained as an Aviation Structural Mechanic (AMSAN) on CH/MH-53 "Super Stallion" helicopters. He was honorably discharged on 26 January 1990 at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-3) and for his service was awarded the SEA Service Deployment Ribbon.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Members are to meet the Oliver family in the parking lot near Target. They will be carrying Mr. Oliver's cremains. Some family members are riders and may be joining in the procession. KSU at approximately 12:15 to ensure arrival at Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1:00 pm interment service.
