About the Mission:

The family of James J. Wierzbicki has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. James, 74, passed on September 13, 2024, in East Greenbush, NY.

Born in Amsterdam, NY, Jim was a graduate of Bishop Scully High School. He entered the US Marine Corps on 29 December 1970 and was trained as a Aircraft Electrical Systems Technician (Specialty 6637). He served during the Vietnam War Era, including an assignment with 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, MCAS, El Toro, California. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant (E-5) on 18 December 1974, and for his service was awarded the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Letter of Recognition and Sharpshooter Badge - Rifle.

After his military service, James dedicated over 30 years of his professional life to National Grid.

Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for a dignified transfer. Members will escort to Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street (Rev. Kenneth J. Doyle Way), Albany, NY for an 11:00 am Funeral Mass. Upon conclusion of church services, members will escort to St. Agnes Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave., Menands, NY for interment with military honors.
