About the Mission:

The family of Glenn Lloyd Gifford has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.  Lloyd, 91, of Ballston Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Schenectady Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born in Schenectady, NY, Lloyd graduated from Draper High School, then went on to serve a long and fulfilling career with the US Air Force.  He served as an Integrated Avionics Component Technician (AFSC B32671B), completing tours of duty in both Korea and Vietnam. He retired on 30 February 1973 with a rank of Technical Sergeant (E-6).  His awards included the Air Force Longevity Service Award w/4 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters.

Following retirement, he worked for decades at the family business, Lakeside Farms Cider Mill, and in his latest years he enjoyed his days at Eagle Crest Golf Course as a ranger. He also enjoyed baseball, fishing, bowling, and snowmobiling, but his passion was golf.
