About the Mission:

The family of Gerald R. Crawmer has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services.  Gerald, 87, of Clifton Park, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital.

Born on November 12, 1937, in Columbus, OH, Jerry graduated from Ohio State University with both a bachelor's and master’s degree in Welding Engineering.  He entered the US Army active duty on 1 April 1962 and served as a Field Artillery Unit Commander (MOS 1193). He served for 2 years and 3 months in Nuremberg, Germany, and was honorably discharged at the rank of 1st Lieutenant (O-2).

In 1965, Jerry joined General Electric's Materials and Processes Laboratory in Schenectady, NY, and spent the next 37 years in a variety of engineering, management, and technical leadership roles, primarily in large and medium steam turbines, corporate consulting services, and power systems engineering, retiring in 2002.
