About the Mission:
The family of Gerald M. "Jerry" Weaver has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Jerry, 71, died Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, Jerry enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on 3 May 1971. He served as a Quartermaster, including 3 years and 5 months at sea, including time aboard the US Coast Guard Cutter CGC Mahoning (WYTM 91). He was honorably discharged on 2 May 1975 at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class, and for his service was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
Jerry retired from the USPS after 30 years of service. He was the President of the Capital District Area Local for many years, covering dozens of post offices. He enjoyed representing his local. He was the first lifetime member of the Emerald Athletic Club, member of the CRAB Club, as well as the Polish American Club all of Troy.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the church with a flag line at the conclusion of the Funeral Mass. Following the dignified transfer, members will provide an escort to Brookside Cemetery, Poestenkill where a private immediate family only graveside service will be held.
