About the Mission:

The family of George Morby has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. George, 97, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2022 at Saratoga Hospital.

Born in Stillwater, New York, George attended Stillwater High School and went on to proudly defend his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He entered the Navy on 18 January 1944, and served as a Coxswain aboard LCT 1034 (Landing Craft Tank) in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on 2 May 1946, and for his service was awarded the American Theater Medal, Amphibious Insignia, Asiatic Pacific Medal w/1 Star, Philippines Liberation Medal w/1 Star and the WWII Victory Medal.

After his military service, George worked at General Electric as a machinist for many years, retiring in 1986. He was a faithful member of the Clifton Park Community Church. He enjoyed helping others and with projects around the church. George also enjoyed metal detecting, traveling, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was known to be a jokester and could never miss a good yard sale.
