About the Mission:
The family of Mr. Gennaro D. DeRubertis has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. DeRubertis, 99, passed on 13 March 2024.
Born and raised in Troy, NY, Mr. DeRubertis entered the United States Army on 13 March 1943. He served on active duty for 3 years as a Machinist (MOS 114), including 13 months in the China, Burma-India (CBI) Theater. His Company operated along Stillwell Road, the world’s longest supply line during the war. He was honorably discharged on 27 April 1946 at the rank of Technician 4th Grade (T4), and for his service was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and an Honorable Service Lapel Pin. Upon returning home, he was a member of the National Guard of New York State until 1949.
Mr. DeRubertis worked for many years, and retired from Tek Hughes International, where he was a tool & die maker and machinist.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Members will escort to St. Augustine's Church, 25 115th Street, Troy, for a 09:30 service. Following church services, members will escort to St. Peters Cemetery, 207 Oakwood Ave., Troy, NY for interment with military honors.
