About the Mission:

The family of Gary L. Hollen has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.  Gary, age 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at home.

Born in Altoona, PA, Gary attended Bellwood Antis High School.  Gary enlisted in the US Air Force on 4 September 1963 in Pittsburgh, PA, and was trained as a Material Facilities Specialist (AFSC 64750).  His active duty time included duty at Plattsburgh Air Force Base and Takhli RTAFB.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Airman 1st Class (E-4), and for his service was awarded; a Good Conduct Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device.

After his military service, Gary earned an Associate’s Degree from Paul Smith’s College, and spent his career as a farm products inspector for NYS Agriculture and Markets.
