About the Mission:

The family of Frederick Earl Bradt III has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his funeral services. Fred, 74, passed on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, and is the brother of Region 5 PGR member and former Ride Captain, Kevin Bradt.

Born in Schenectady, NY, Fred entered the US Army on 21 February 1968. He was trained as a Light Weapons Infantryman (MOS 11B40), and served 2 years on active duty, including a 1 year tour of duty in Vietnam assigned to the 9th Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged on 20 February 1970 at the rank of Sergeant (E-5), and for his service, received the following awards; Bronze Star w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters, US Army Commendation Medal w/"V" Device and 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm Device, Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster and Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device. He was also awarded a Combat Infantryman Badge, Sharpshooter Badge (M-14 Rifle), Marksman Badge (M-16 Rifle), Expert Badge (M-60 Machine Gun) and 2 Overseas Service Bars.

Being a huge car enthusiast, Fred entered many car shows and won numerous trophies for his prized possessions. As a NASCAR fan, one of Fred’s great passions was to attend the yearly Daytona 500 race with his cousin, Jack. Fred’s last occupation was a tractor-trailer operator for the Golub Corporation.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line during the 4:00 - 6:00 pm for visitation hours. A plaque presentation will be made near the conclusion of visitation. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm. There are no interment services scheduled at this time, but are expected to take place at Schenectady Memorial Park in the Spring.

Note:  During the Winter months, flag lines may take place indoors where masks may still be required.  Please ensure that you have a mask with you should the need arise, and observe safe social distancing as much as possible.
