About the Mission:

The family of Eugene L. Talbot has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Eugene, 91, passed away peacefully March 10, 2024 at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home.

Born in Ilion, NY, Eugene, "Gene" as he was most commonly known, was educated in Ilion schools. He joined the United States Army on 7 February 1951 and trained as a Telephone Lineman.  He spent 1 year and 7 months overseas and was honorably discharged on 6 February 1954 at the rank of Private.  For his service, he was awarded the following decorations; National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan) and Korean Service Medal.

After his military service time, Gene worked in Wells, NY as part of a logging operation. In Wells. Gene worked as a lineman for over 35 years for a combination of ConTel and GTE.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

We will stand a flag line duringr calling hours. We may be requested for burial in the spring.
