About the Mission:

The family of Edward J. Weston, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Edward, 76, passed at home on May 24, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born in Albany, NY Edward was raised in Rensselaer. He attended Rensselaer High School, but graduated from Troy High in 1967, after participating in a carpentry program which prepared him for his lifelong career as a carpenter/cabinet maker. He joined the US Navy in February of 1968 and served with the Seabees through July of 1971, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably dischargedat the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class and a rating of Builder.

Edward was a volunteer firefighter for over 50 years, serving with James Hill Hook & Ladder in Rensselaer, Schodack Valley Fire Company in Schodack, and most recently with Fort Hunter Fire Company as Lieutenant, Captain, Chief, Chief of Car One for the Town of Guilderland and Commissioner of Fort Hunter.

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Anticipated KSU of 10:45 for escort to Saratoga National Cemetery, including a drive past the Fort Hunter Fire Company.
