About the Mission:

The family of Edward H. Sharrow has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.  Edward, 82, of Fort Ann, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Born in Fort Edward, Ed was a graduate of Fort Ann Central School, Class of 1959.  After high school, he enlisted in the US Army on 17 August 1959, and was trained as a Clerk Typist (MOS 711.10).  He served for 3 years, including a 13 month tour of duty overseas.  He was honorably discharged while serving with Headquarters/Headquarters Company, 3rd Batallion, 77th Armor at the rank of Private (E-2) on 16 August 1962, and released from the inactive reserves on 16 August 1965.

Ed worked for many years at the Dept. of Transportation, Division of Canals in Fort Edward. Throughout his life he was very active in his community. Some of his accomplishments included coaching the Fort Ann Little League Red Sox Team and was a Co-founder of the Upstate Regional Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Network (CISD) with his late son-in-law, William Meehan. He was a member of the Fort Ann Volunteer Fire Dept., where he held just about every position, except treasurer, for the past 65 years.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Please do not pull into the cemetery to park.  Park your vehicles on the side of the road outside the cemetery.
