About the Mission:
The family of Donald R. Lee has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Donald, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023 at the age of 99.
Born in Cohoes, NY, Donald attended School #18, a one room schoolhouse, in Boght Corners and later graduated in 1942 from Cohoes High School. In September of 1944 Don was drafted into military service and served our nation in the US Army in occupation in Frankfurt, Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
After his military service, Donald worked for a carpenter and for an oil furnace business before taking employment as head of maintenance for Shaker Junior High School in the North Colonie Central School District from where he retired in 1986. He served as a scout master in the 1950’s, a deacon and elder in the Dutch Reformed Church for 50 years and was a 50-year member of the Boght Community Fire Company.
Some PGR members may remember that we stood for and welcomed Donald home to Schenectady, Kingsway Arms, after his wife passed in April of 2021.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the cemetery, inside the front gate, where we will meet the family for escort to the grave site. Military honors will be conducted beginning at 1:00 pm.
