About the Mission:

The family of Donald P. Dixon has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services.  Donald, 84, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital with his family by his side.

Don attended South Glens Falls High School and participated in football and track. He enlisted into the United States Navy on 20 May 1959 and was trained as a Boilerman (BT2).  He served on active duty until 1 May 1963, including 3 and 1/2 years of time at sea aboard the USS Intrepid (CV-11) the "Fighting I", an Essex-Class aircraft carrier.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class, and for his service, was awarded a Good Conduct Medal.

After his military service, Don worked for Hercules/Ciba Geigy for 17 years as a draftsman, until he opened his own business; D.P. Dixon Inc., which specialized in plumbing and pipe fitters.
