About the Mission:
The family of Donald L. Palmer has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Donald, 90, of Hwy. Rte.#20 in Esperance, passed away Thursday, October 20th at the home he built with the loving support of his family.
Born in Lawyersville, NY, Don graduated from Schoharie High School, class of 1951 and later, enlisted into the US Army. He served in Korea as a Battery Truck Driver and Crane Follower reaching the rank of Corporal until his honorable discharge in 1954. He returned to his native Schoharie County and began working at the former Beech Nut Plant in Canajoharie. He saw an opportunity at General Electric Co. in Schenectady and started work sweeping floors eventually working his way to Method Specialist until retiring in 1989 and returned twice for a total of 35 years of service. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #2507 in Esperance where he also was awarded “Elk of the Year”. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #1 in Troy.

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Escort to follow to Sloansville Valley Cemetery, State Route 30A, Sloansville, NY for interment with military honors.
