About the Mission:
The family of Donald Eugene Evans has requested the participation of Patriot Guard Riders in his military honors funeral services. Donald, 90, passed on July 27, 2022.
Born in Brownville, NY, Donald enlisted in the US Navy on 19 April 1950. He was trained as a Sonarman and spent 2 years and 11 months aboard the USS Hemminger (DE-746), a Cannon-class destroyer escort. He achieved the rating of Sonarman 2, at the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class (E-5). He was honorably discharged on 4 March 1954 and for his service was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Interment with military honors scheduled for 10:00 am.
Note that there is a new staging protocol for Saratoga National Cemetery. PGR members will stage by parking ONLY on the right side of the roadway near Section 21. If that area is full, the overflow parking area will be on the right side of the roadway near Interment Shelter 1. Please park as closely together as possible. As always, you are asked to stage quietly and respectfully. Interment services for this mission will be conducted in Interment Shelter 1. Please click here to view a map of the designated area
