About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to stand for the military honors funeral services of David Patrick McDonald. David, 61, of Troy, NY passed on September 1, 2022.
Born in Twentynine Palms, CA, David later settled in Troy, NY with his parents and siblings. He attended St. Paul’s School, LaSalle Institute, Hudson Valley Community College, and Paul Smith College. He also took courses at The College of Saint Rose. David entered the US Navy on 27 December 1982. He earned his Dolphins, the Navy’s official designation as a qualified submariner, and found joy in cooking for his shipmates on the USS Albuquerque (SSN 706), a Los Angeles-class attack submarine. He was honorably discharged on 26 December 1986 at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4), and for his service, was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Ribbon w/one Bronze Star and a Meritorious Unit Citation.
After his military service, David continued his cooking career while serving as a Cook Supervisor in the Federal Bureau of Prisons system in both Brooklyn, NY and Ray Brook, NY. He retired in 2015 and moved back to Troy in 2018.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the church with a flag line for the dignified transfer. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 am, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 12:00 pm ceremony.

Second Stage - Special Information:
Note that there is a new staging protocol for Saratoga National Cemetery. PGR members will stage by parking ONLY on the right side of the roadway near Section 21. If that area is full, the overflow parking area will be on the right side of the roadway near Interment Shelter 1. Please park as closely together as possible.
