About the Mission:

The family of Curtis P. Niemeyer has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Curtis, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Wesley Health Center.

Born in Pensacola, Florida, Curt graduated from W. Irondequoit High School in 1965 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps shortly after. He was trained as an Auto Mechanic (Specialty Number 3516) and served a total of 3 years and 7 months, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal, and for his service, was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal w/4 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal w/60 Device and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.

After his military service, Curt had a long career as a Detroit Diesel Allison Tech, eventually starting his own company, Genesee Valley Truck Service, Inc. During semi-retirement, he enjoyed driving trucks and working as a roadside assistance employee.

Members will stage a flag line for dignified transfer, then escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 10:30 shelter service.
