About the Mission:

The family of Chester C. Whittam, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Chester, 93, of Zelienople, PA, formerly of Schenectady, NY, passed away on March 20,2023 at his home.

Born in Schenectady, NY, Chester proudly defended his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War serving as Sergeant with the Second Tank Battalion, Second Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, NC.

After the Marine Corps, Chester was a self-employed Master Carpenter and craftsman. Building countless numbers of homes to perfection sometimes by himself. It wasn’t worth doing if it wasn't done right. His motto was “you’re either Whittam or without em’”

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. A funeral service will be conducted at 09:30 am, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery.
