About the Mission:

The family of Charles E. "Chuck" Moore, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Charles, 73, died peacefully Saturday, August 12, 2023, at St. Peter’s Hospital with his family at his side.

Born in Albany, Charles was a graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany and attended HVCC. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps on 25 March 1969, and was trained as a General Warehouseman (Specialty 3051). He completed a tour of duty in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal (E-4) on 22 December 1970. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device and Marksman Badge - Rifle.

Chuck was a sales representative for Morwhite, Inc. for 42 years. He was a life member and past All State Commander, Watervliet VFW Post #729, life member Menands St. Patrick’s Club, life member Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.), member of the Watervliet VFW Golf League and the Watervliet AOH.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Escort to St. Pius Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 to follow with a 10:00 am Funeral Mass. Following services, members will escort to Saratoga National cemetery for a 12:30 interment with military honors.
