About the Mission:

The family of Charles C. "Charlie" Browne has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.  Charlie, age 76, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born in Goshen, NY, after high school, Charlie enlisted into the US Air Force on 24 November 1966.  He served just over 20 years on active duty, including 12 years overseas with a tour of duty in Vietnam.  He was honorably discharged on 30 November 1986 at the rank of Master Sergeant (E-7), and for his service, was awarded a  Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal w/2 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/1 Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Long Tour Ribbon w/2 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon w/4 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon w/1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Small Arms Expert Ribbon, Phillipine Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Following his military service, Charlie enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a mechanic for Sofco, in Scotia.

Special Information:

Will stand flagline for calling hours until 11 am, then take a break during the Memorial Service. After service is over, we will stand for a dignified transfer, then escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1 pm service.
