About the Mission:
The family of Bruce J. Palmatier has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Bruce, 81, of Hilgert Parkway, Schoharie passed away suddenly on Monday, September 9th at his home.
Bruce was born February 16, 1943 in Schoharie and graduated from Schoharie Central, class of 1961, where he lettered in basketball and track. Bruce would enlist in the US Navy the following year where he served during the Cuban Crisis aboard a destroyer as a Fire Control Technician (Missile Guidance System) and Radar Specialist, earning the rank of Seaman (E-3).
He returned to his native Schoharie County and worked various jobs until landing at General Electric where he entered the tool and die Apprentice Program. He worked his way up to Methods Engineer, giving the Company 40 years of service until retiring in 2004. Bruce was a member and past President of Schoharie Kiwanis, Boy Scouts of America, Schoharie Valley Lodge #491 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Jesters, and Shriners Clowns. He was also a member of the General Electric Quarter Century Club, Schoharie Reformed Church, Cobleskill Golf and Country Club, and served on the Schoharie Planning Board.

Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. There will be a 10:00 am funeral service followed by a dignified transfer and short escort to St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery for interment with military honors.
Note: For anyone that would like to ride down as a group, I will be staging at the Pilot Travel Center, 1128 Duanesburg Rd, Rotterdam, NY 12306 with KSU of 08:45.
