About the Mission:

The family of Albert M. Donlon has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Albert, 90, a 30-year resident of Easton, passed on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs.

Born in Avon, Connecticut, Albert attended and graduated from Suffield High School, CT. He enlisted in the United States Navy on 14 July 1952 and was trained as as a Damage Controllman (Specialty Code DC-5029-20). He served 3 years and 9 months on active duty during the Korean War, including time aboard the aircraft carrier USS Midway (CVA-41), with 14 months of foreign duty. He earned the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class and for his service, was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Medal (European Clasp).

When his service to his country was completed, he attended the New England Technical Institute of Connecticut to learn to repair computers. For many years he lived with his family in Burlington, CT, and worked for Univac as a field engineer. He relocated with his family in 1981 to Brunswick, NY, to continue his work at Univac (later known as Unisys) and worked there until he retired in 1992. After his retirement, he relocated to Easton, NY, where he made his home and enjoyed being a gentleman farmer.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the church with a flag line for dignified transfer. Church services scheduled for 12:00 Noon, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 2:00 pm interment with military honors.
