About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to stand in honor of the life and service of US Army Major Gabrielle M. (Ruska) Dunn. Major Dunn, a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022 at Fort Carson, CO at the age of 35.
Gabrielle grew up in Gardiner, NY and graduated from New Paltz High School in 2004. She then attended SUNY Oneonta and graduated in 2007. During her summer break from college, she interned in the office of the Adjutant General at The United States Military Academy, West Point. After college, Gabrielle spent 10 months with AmeriCorps. While in this program, she volunteered for thousands of hours in communities across the United States, which included time in St. Bernard Parish, LA helping to clean up after hurricane Katrina.
Gabrielle joined the Army to become a social worker and further her career. During her distinguished career as a behavioral health officer, Gabrielle served our country with Delta Company, 187th Detachment, Ft. Sam Houston, TX; Womack Army Community Hospital; Headquarters, Combat Aviation Brigade (BSB), 82nd Airborne Division , Ft. Bragg, NC; and finally at the 64th Brigade Support Battalion, Ft. Carson, CO. During Gabrielle’s time with the 64th BSB she was forward deployed to Kuwait for a period of nine months.
Gabrielle received the following awards & decorations during her service: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and The Army Service Ribbon.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Visitation hours are 4:00 - 7:00 pm. PGR members will stand between 4:00 and 5:00 pm, or longer if schedules permit.

Second Stage - Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Anticipated KSU of 11:00 am to begin escort to Saratoga National Cemetery. Escort will meet up with Region 4/5 riders at NYS Thruway Exit 24 truck staging area, just past the toll point. R4/5 riders will assume the lead at that point.

Third Stage - Special Information:
Riders will stage at the truck staging area and await the arrival of the procession. Upon arrival, we will assume the escort lead on a roll and proceed to Exit 11 of the Northway (I-87). From Exit 11, the route will take us on the Round Lake Bypass to Route 67, to Route 4, North to Wilbur Road.
Interment with military honors is scheduled for 1:30 pm at Saratoga National Cemetery.
