About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders of New York has been invited once again to stand a flag line in honor of all veterans at the Wreaths Across America Ceremony and Wreath-laying in Rome, NY. The mission of Wreaths Across America is to Remember the fallen, Honor those currently serving and their families and Teach the next generation the value and cost of freedom.
The event consists of a short, but solemn, ceremony including a moment of silence, the presentation and honoring of the National Colors, a short address by a local official, the presentation of ceremonial wreaths of the military branches, and the playing of Taps followed by wreaths placements on veterans graves by church and family members of the fallen and volunteer members of the public. We will also assist, if needed, in handing out and placing wreaths on the graves of our veterans.

The CDC has changed its COVID-19 protocol recommendations for 2024, updating them to reflect the changing severity and transmission of the virus. Please click here for the latest information and continue to practice common sense distancing protocols while in enclosed locations.
Special Information:
We will form a flag line prior to the start of the ceremonies, which are scheduled for 12:00 pm. We will render a salute during the playing of Taps and at the conclusion of the brief ceremonies, we will stand down and then render assistance distributing wreaths among the public gathered to lay them at the graves of the veterans buried at the cemetery. Those members interested can also lay wreaths and assist the public in locating veteran graves. Please dress for the weather.
