About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to participate in the honoring of another American hero, Stephen A. Glenske, 99, of Schuyler, NY.
Stephen proudly served in the US Army from 1945 to 1946 with occupational assignments as a military truck driver, Mess Sergeant, Anti Tank Gun Crewman and Basic Infantryman. Stephen attained the rank of Tech Sergeant, and was deployed to the Southern Philippines and Japan. Stephen earned the Army of Occupation Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippines Liberation Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Stephen was honored with a Proclamation sponsored by Assemblyman Robert J. Smullen for his “Lifelong Contributions in Public and Community Service” on April 5, 2024. In part, the Proclamation reads, Stephen Glenske is a WW II veteran who was involved in the liberation of the Philippines from Japan; he was acting highway superintendent for the Town of Schuyler during the 1950’s; and is the current director of the Town of Schuyler Recreation Program; and is currently involved with the Boy Scouts of America as the leader of a local troop; he is the founding charter member of the Schuyler VFW Post #8728; he became the post commander and has continued to support local veterans and veteran events throughout his life." It was proclaimed that the Assemblyman, along with the citizens of the 118th Assembly District, offered their praise, congratulations and thanks to Stephen.

Special Information:
We will stage near the gravesite (See a map of the gravesite here: https://tinyurl.com/3j25bufa ) and honor Stephen with a flag line only at his graveside service. A dignified transfer will likely not be necessary. We will form our flag lines and remain in place for the arrival of family and friends, duration of services, the rendering of military honors and the presentation of a PGR plaque.
