About the Mission: The family of Wilfred J. Sochia has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his celebration of life services. Wilfred passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center.

Wilfred was born in St. Regis Falls, New York, and served in the US Army from March 4,1943 to January 2, 1946 in the Pacific Theater. PFC Sochia served in Headquarters' Company, 1st Bn,145th Infantry as a light anti-tank gunner. He served in Lauzon and North Salomon Islands. During his service Wilfred earned the following: The Bronze Star for saving a Lieutenant’s life, the Good Conduct Medal, World War 2 Victory Medal, the Pacific Campaign Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge with Wreath as well as the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Star. He was honorably discharged on January 2, 1946.

He owned and operated W.J. Plumbing and Heating for 30 years. Wilfred served as the first Fire Chief of the Lawrenceville Fire Department. For many years he was a member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information: PGR Members will hold a flag line from 09:30 to 10:20 hours at the Flint Funeral Home. The Lawrenceville Fire Department will transport Mr. Sochia to the Lawrenceville Cemetery at approximately 10:30 hours.  PGR will provide a motorcycle escort from The Flint Funeral Home to the Hill Crest Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Lawrenceville, New York.  PGR will provide a flag line at the cemetery.
