About the Mission:

The family of Henri V. Carrere, Jr., has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in a Celebration of Life. Henri, 87, of Sidney, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023.

Henri was a US Navy Veteran who was awarded 11 Polaris Patrol Pins. He qualified for his first Dolphins on the USS Carp, a Balao-class diesel submarine. He also served on 3 of the “41 For Freedom” submarines: the USS James Madison, a ballistic missile submarine, of which he was a proud Plank Owner, the USS Thomas A. Edison, an Ethan Allen-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, on which he was “COB” (Chief Of The Boat), and the USS James K Polk, a Benjamin Franklin-class fleet ballistic missile submarine from which he retired from active service on July 17,1974. Henri then served in the Ready Reserve until 1984, for total military service of 30 years.

Military honors will be conducted during the Celebration of Life, with interment at Arlington National Cemetery to follow at a later date.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Members will stand a flag line at the funeral home for the arrival of family and guests.

For those from the Capital District area that would like to attend, I will be staging at the Pilot Travel Center, 1128 Duanesburg Rd, Rotterdam, NY 12306, with PBO at 09:00.  I will be caging it, and have room for 3 passengers.  Email me if you're interested.  This email address is being protected from spambots.
