About the Mission:

The family of Mr. James "Jim" P. Serio has requested PGR to participate in his funeral services. Jim passed away on March 5th, 2022.

Mr. Serio is a US Army, Vietnam Era veteran. He achieved the rank of Specialist Four (SP4, E-4) while serving in the 3rd Squadron of the 11th Army Cavalry Regiment - Blackhorse. Mr. Serio served for five and one-half years from 1974-1979 with at least one and one-half years of foreign duty.

Mr. Serio earned: Army Good Conduct Medal, Expert Qualification Badge Rifle (M-16), and Pistol.

Additional details of Mr. Serio's service are pending.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

PGR Members will stage at the Town Barn at 1:00 pm.  KSU 1:20 pm for the short ride to the residence.  PGR Members will form a flag line for arriving guests at the residence. 
Services are expected to begin at 2:00 pm.  The service is expected to run one hour, with military honors at the end.  Following military honors, Mr. Serio's cremains will be loaded on a motorcycle for transport to a private burial ceremony. PGR members will perform a dignified transfer to the motorcycle and render a final salute as Mr. Serio and the immediate family leave for the internment. The mission will conclude at that point.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or U.S. Army flag. Dress for the weather - the current forecast is for the mid-80s with sun.  Bring your own water.  Please ensure your large flags are securely attached to your vehicle.
