About the Mission:
The family of Christopher J. States has asked PGR to participate in honoring their father's Cold War service to America. Mr. States passed July 02, 2020.
Mr. States served eight years active duty with the US Army, from 1977-1985. In that time, he achieved a Specialist Five (Sp5, E-5) grade. He carried the following MOSs: 63B20 - Light Wheeled Vehicle/Power Generation Mechanic (Skill Level 2) (seven years, eight months), and 91C2T - Practical Nurse (two years, eleven months). Mr. States served eighteen months of foreign duty and his final duty station was with the US Army Medical Command in Ft. Bragg, NC.
Mr. States training and education in the US Army included: Wheel Vehicle Mechanic Course (seven weeks), Nuclear, Biological, Chemical (NBC) Defense Course, Patient Care Phases 1, 2, and 3.
Mr. States earned: Army Service Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Cold War Service Medal, Honorable Discharge Commemorative Medal, Driver Badge, Expert Qualification Badge - M-16, and Expert Qualification Badge - Grenade.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
10:15 a.m. Stage at the entrance to Sampson in the small parking lot just west of the registration shack. 10:30 a.m. PGR Members will form a flag line at the registration shack for the arrival of the funeral director and Mr. States. 10:50 a.m. PGR Members will escort the cortege from the entrance to the Committal Shelter. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Committal Shelter and will include military salutes. Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, your own water, and dress for the weather. Please ensure any vehicle mounted flags are secure.
