Carl was a US Army combat veteran of the war in Vietnam, serving from 1966-67. He served as an automatic rifleman with Company "B", 3rd Battalion of the 9th Infantry Divisions 3rd Brigrade, arriving in Vietnam December 19, 1966.  During his service, Carl attained the rank of Sergeant (E-5). Little else is known of the circumstances of his service to our nation.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

We will stage and form our respectful flag line at Carl's services at the State Street United Methodist Church, and honor him with a dignified transfer from the church at the conclusion of services. We will then escort Carl and the funeral procession to the Riverside Cemetery, 4024 County Route 57, Phoenix, NY in the town of Scriba, some nine miles distant.  Click here for map

There we will conduct a dignified transfer and stand a respectful flag line once again for the graveside services, including military honors. Thank you for all that you do to honor our heroic veterans and to support his proud and loving family.

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
