About the Mission:

The family of William S. Klemenz has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his service to us all and celebrating his life. Mr. Klemenz passed away 15 August 2023 at the age of 62.

Mr. Klemenz was a US Navy, Cold War veteran, serving two years, eight months, 1979-1982. Of those three years, two years and three months were at sea aboard the USN Dewey (DDG-45), a Farragut-class guided missile destroyer. Mr. Klemenz was discharged 04 March 1982.  Mr. Klemenz had a rating of Seaman Recruit (SR, E-1) and a specialty of DG-9760 (SR) Damage Control, Electrical/Mechanical Equipment Repairman.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR members will stage at the highway department in preparation for processing to the Western NY Cemetery.  Kickstands Up at 9:30am.  Upon arrival at the WNY Veterans Cemetery, PGR members will form a flag line at the Committal Shelter for the arrival of the cortege.  PGR members will perform a dignified transfer and then participate in services including military honors expected to begin at 10:00am.  Following services, we will perform a final salute at the Committal Shelter and a dignified transfer to the gravesite

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, and dress for the weather. The current forecast is for sunny conditions with temperatures in the low 70s.
