About the Mission: | Corporal Robert C. Agard, Jr. Age 19, died 71 years ago while serving in Korea with the US Army’s 2nd Platoon, 24th Reconnaissance Company, 24th Infantry Division. Cpl. Agard was on night patrol in July 1950 when he went missing in action near Taejon, South Korea. In December of 1950, remains were recovered that, all these years later, would be positively identified through DNA testing as those of Cpl. Agard. Since 1950 the remains of Cpl. Agard have been interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii. Cpl. Agard was one of more than 600 Korean War remains disinterred from unknown graves in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii as part of a Korean War Identification Project |

Updated 8 March 2022Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters. |
Special Information: | Gate 5 is located just off the excess road which is Eastside way. Eastside way is should be entered from Scottsville Rd. just West of exit 17 from Rt 390. The plane is expected shortly after 12:00 pm. There should be a shuttle bus for the PGR to be plane side for the Honorable transfer. Once we are back through the Gate, we will mount up and escort Cpl Agard to McInerny Funeral Home 502 W Water St, Elmira, NY 14905. This will be 116 mile escort, at speed limit, it should take an hour and 45 minutes. Please make sure your flag is expressway speed capable. This escort will be LEO assisted the entire way. Weather is currently forecasted as sunny, high of 70 degrees and zero chance of rain. |

We will be at the Funeral Home for the Honorable Transfer to the Hearse then escort to Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 563 Jerusalem Hill Road, Elmira NY. Cpl. Agard will be buried next to his mother. |
