About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to stand in honor of the extraordinary life and service of Paul E. Campbell of Pavilion, NY, who passed away on 24 June 2022.

Mr. Campbell served our nation for 19 months on active duty in the US Marine Corps from 1968-1969, with a MOS of 0351-Anti Tank Assaultman. Mr. Campbell served for 12 months on foreign duty in South Vietnam, participating in several combat operations against the enemy while assigned to the 1st Marine Division. He was hospitalized in June 1969 after being wounded in action, and went on to continue participation in more combat operations.

Mr. Campbell was honorably discharged from active duty on 6 February 1970 with the rank of Corporal (E-4), and he earned the following awards: Purple Heart Medal; Navy Commendation Medal w/Combat "V"; Navy Achievement Medal w/Combat "V"; Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star; Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Award w/Palm & Frame; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; and Rifle Marksman Qualification Badge.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

There is no escort or cemetery involved in this Mission.  Patriot Guard Riders will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and for the calling hours from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM.  The funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 PM, including the presentation of the PGR Plaque.

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or USMC flag, and dress for the weather. Water will be provided.  Acknowledging that this is a long Mission, please consider devoting any amount of time to which you are able.  Thank you for honoring the extraordinary military combat service Paul E Campbell as well as his ongoing service to Veterans, and to support his loving family.
