About the Mission:
The family of Master Sergeant Francis Donald "Frank" Jones, US Army, Retired, has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his funeral services. Sergeant Jones, 84, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on September 23, 2023 at his residence.
Born in Chateaugay, NY, Sergeant Jones was raised and attended schools there, and came to the local area in early 1970’s. Sergeant Jones proudly served in the United States Army from January 9,1958, until his honorable discharge and retirement on June 30, 1979. He earned his discharge from reserve obligation on February 6, 1988 as a highly decorated Master Sergeant. For his service, Sergeant Jones was awarded: Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal w/ two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters (3 awards), Purple Heart Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal w/ one Bronze and one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster (7 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm Device, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Qualification Badge, Submachine Gun and Sharpshooter Qualification Badge, Rifle.
Sergeant Jones retired from the United States Postal Service, where he was employed as a postal carrier, until he retired after 22 years.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Members will stand during the Visitation hours of 2:00 - 6:00 pm. The mission will end upon conclusion of visitation. Sergeant Jones will be interred with full military honors at a later date in his home town of Chateaugay, NY.
