About the Mission:
The family of Leon "Lee" C. Utegg has requested that Patriot Guard Riders New York honor Lee's military service and celebrate his life at his funeral services. Lee passed away 16 September 2025 at the age of 76.
Lee served in the US Marine Corps, with an MOS of 6022 - Aircraft Mechanic, J52, and achieved the rank of Corporal. Lee served three years, eleven months active duty (1969-1971 with Marine Attack Squadron 331 (VMA-331), Marine Air Group 32, at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, Beaufort, SC. Corporal Utegg earned: Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal.

1:45pm - PGR Members will form a flag line at the funeral home in anticipation of family members arriving at 2:00pm. 2:00pm - Calling hours begin and will end at approximately 3:00pm. 3:15pm - KSU for the escort to Seaman's Cemetery, Savona, NY (approximately 15 miles). Graveside services begin at 3:45pm and include military honors. Please come with clean 3x5 US or Marine Corps flag, dress for the weather, bring your own water, and ensure your flags are properly mounted for highway speeds.
